Juvederm FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Juvederm at Elle Medical & Aesthetics

  • Is Juvederm right for me if I’ve never had filler before?

Yes. Juvederm is often the first choice for patients new to dermal fillers because it's safe, well-researched, and offers natural-looking results. During your consultation, we’ll assess your goals, anatomy, and comfort level to ensure it’s the right option for you.

  • What’s the difference between Juvederm Ultra and Volbella for lips?

Juvederm Ultra XC is typically used for fuller, more dramatic lip enhancement, while Volbella XC is designed for subtle volume and fine-line smoothing. We’ll help you decide based on the look you want and your lip structure.

  • Can I combine Juvederm with other treatments like Botox or HydraFacial?

Absolutely. Many clients choose to combine Juvederm with Botox or other wrinkle relaxers for full facial rejuvenation. We often recommend pairing fillers with HydraFacials or microneedling to support healthy skin and long-lasting results.

  • How soon after treatment can I wear makeup or return to my routine?

Most clients return to their normal day immediately after treatment. You can apply light makeup after 24 hours, though we recommend avoiding pressure on the treated areas for at least a day.

  • What should I avoid before and after Juvederm?

To reduce the risk of bruising, avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. After treatment, avoid strenuous exercise, facials, and excessive heat for 24 to 48 hours

  • Will my face look different if I stop getting fillers?

No. Your face will gradually return to its original appearance as the filler dissolves over time. Juvederm does not stretch or damage your skin. In some cases, repeated treatment may even stimulate collagen production, offering mild long-term improvement.

  • How much filler will I need?

This depends on the area treated, your goals, and your facial structure. Some areas, like cheeks or jawline, may require more product for noticeable contouring, while lips or smile lines often need less. We’ll give you a personalized treatment plan during your consult.

  • Are Juvederm fillers reversible?

Yes. If for any reason you’re unhappy with your results or need adjustment, hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. However, revisions are rarely needed when treated by an experienced injector.
